I had a pretty good idea in my mind of how I wanted this one to go before I started, “a cyberpunk styled bosozoku, a Japanese biker gangster dressed to kill”. I used a 3d mannequin in Blender to get an accurate pose before adding sketched details on top. I wanted some sort of tricked out face mask doubling as jewelry and her hair and makeup are mash-ups of kabuki theatre and delinquent fashion. The illustration was finished in Photoshop with basic brushes and some simple layers to separate the colour “plates” with extra care given to the linework and shadows so that they wouldn’t overpower the bright pallette.
